The 2018 'La BAM' Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced out of the Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard and it is another magnificent release from Carter Cellars in this vintage. This instantly impresses as it explodes open with seductive aromas of ripe dark currants, black cherries and blueberries, which are woven together with exotic spices, violets, tilled-soil, mocha, graphite and underlying hints of crushed gravel. On the palate this is simply stunning, boasting a gorgeous full body that is deep, layered and beautifully polished. This continues to impress with its striking overall balance, concentration and remarkable supple texture that glides gracefully through the long multi-dimensional finish. This is an utterly fascinating Cabernet Sauvignon that is already offering so much at this early stage, yet it also has the potential to age brilliantly for decades to come.
