The 2016 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino is absolutely outstanding in this vintage. This instantly begins to impress as it unwinds beautifully in the glass, releasing gorgeous nuances of dried cherries, raspberries, exotic spices, crushed dried florals, herbs, leather, minerals, cedar and subtle hints of nutmeg all come together to form the wonderful aromatics. On the palate this offers a lovely medium body that is structured with fine grained tannins and displays incredible balance and finesse all the way through the finish. This is already drinking incredibly well at this early stage and is clearly one of the finest releases of this “white label” Brunello I can recall from the Neri Family.
