LARKMEAD Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 'The Lark' 2017

The 2017 ‘The Lark’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful wine from this challenging vintage. Winemaker Dan Petroski has crafted a brilliant wine that shows remarkable elegance and precision. This begins to impress with its perfumed aromatics of redcurrants and dark cherries that are woven together with fresh florals, herbs, graphite, spices, and hints of dusty earth that all emerge gracefully from the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus bodied and precisely structured, with finely polished tannins that provide excellent support. It goes on to impress as it displays outstanding overall balance and focus, with a vibrant core of ripe red and dark berries that are underlined by a beautiful touch of acidity which provides a wonderful sense of freshness and purity through the finish. The Lark is a simply radiant wine in this vintage that is incredibly refined and built for the long-term. Those fortunate enough to have some of this around in a decade or longer will be rewarded with an absolutely stunning wine.
