The 2018 'Le Debut' Chardonnay is another excellent release from HdV in this vintage. This is sourced from younger Calera plantings ftom Hyde Vineyard and is aged in 80% Neutral French oak and 20% concrete egg for 13 months. The wine itself offers inviting aromas of apples and fresh Meyer lemon, which are joined by jasmine blossoms and crushed stones. On the palate this is fresh, lively and balanced with a beautiful texture. Flavors of apples, quince, lemon and lovely minerality persist through the finish to round out this fantastic Chardonnay.
