The 2018 Red Wine from Fe is a gorgeous blend that is composed of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec that spent 19 months in 60% new, 40% once-used French Oak from Taransaud, Bossuet and Sylvain. This instantly opens to gorgeous aromas of cherries, red currants and ripe plums which are laced with exotic spices, herbs, licorice, iron and forest floor nuances that form the expressive nose. On the palate this is full-bodied with a wonderful plush texture and remarkable overall balance with nice acidity framing the layers of ripe red and dark fruits that persist all the way through the beautiful supple finish. This is showing fantastic today, and should go on to drink beautifully for years to come.
