This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Lerner's Estate Vineyard, Armstrong Ranch. It was purchased in 2017 by Karen and Stu Lerner from Tom and Jane (Armstrong) Byrne. The vineyard is situated over 1500 feet above the town of Calistoga on the steeply terraced, and sundrenched hillsides of the Diamond Mountain AVA. As far as the wine itself, it is utterly fascinating as it immediately begins to impress with its incredibly perfumed aromatics of ripe dark currants, blackberries and blueberries, which are woven together with graphite shavings, violets, exotic spices and crushed gravel all developing in the glass. On the palate this possesses a full body with a gorgeous rich, opulent texture and beautifully polished, mouth-coating tannins. This incredible structure as well as remarkable concentration and depth, as this monumental wine continues to thoroughly impress all they way through the ultra-long, voluptuous finish. This is an absolutely spectacular showing from the Lerner's and should have a wonderful evolution ahead, offering decades of drinking pleasure.
