The 2018 FAY Cabernet Sauvignon is another sensational wine from Stag's Leap Cellars in this vintage. This spent 20 months in 100% new French oak and it begins to impress with its seductive aromas of fresh ripe blueberries, cassis and boysenberry pie, that are woven together with sweet spices, fresh florals, anise and hints of tobacco and wild herbs which all take shape in the glass. On the palate this is just as stunning, as it displays a gorgeous full body that is beautifully polished with a remarkable mouthfeel and outstanding overall balance. It continues to deliver delicious flavors of ripe dark fruits, sweet exotic spices and floral nuances that all build up to the seamless finish. This is a wonderful showing and while its freshness and purity gives this immediate appeal, it should also have an absolutely brilliant future ahead.
