The 2019 'Palengat' impresses right out of the gate. It is every bit as sensational as last years release, as it offers incredibly perfumed aromas of blackberries, plums and cassis along side, graphite, dried savory herbs, cocoa powder and exotic spices that are nearly impossible to resist. On the palate this is just as impressive, displaying a stunning combination of elegance and power, as it offers a gorgeous full-bodied texture that is utterly seamless. It is beautifully structured with fine dusty tannins that frame its ripe core, which is laced with dark currants, graphite dust and roasted coffee flavors that push through effortlessly on to the long sleek finish that brings it to a wonderful end. Today this is already showing remarkably well and a pleasure to approach, however it should also go on to offer a drinking window that spans decades.
