The 2018 'God Only Knows' is and absolutely stunning wine from Christophe Baron made from mostly Grenache. This wine is all about elegnace, finesse and purity as it begins with striking aromatics of raspberries, wild berries which are woven together with spices, smoke, lavander and wet stones which all come together beautifully in the glass. Showing remarkable balance and a gorgeous silky texture, this continues to thoroughly impress as it possesses outstanding concentration and depth through the graceful finish. While this is already nothing short of brilliant in its youth, and it should also go on to evolve beautifully with some cellaring. This is amongst the most compelling expressions of Grenach I have had the chance to taste from the region, or the world for that matter.
