The Kistler Chardonnay from Durell Vineyard is fantastic in 2019. The Durell Vineyard is located in the Sonoma Valley where Carneros meets the Sonoma Coast appellation. It offers a beautiful bouquet of fresh Meyer lemon, grapefruit, white peach, and tropical fruits coupled with notes of green herbs, white flowers, and fresh minerals. On the palate this is intense and focused wine with lots of minerality and marine influences combined with lovely natural acidity that explodes on the long finish. This beautiful Chardonnay can benefit from some extended air contact or bottle age and should be enjoyed over the next 12-15 years.
