The 2019 Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet from AXR is fabulous in this vintage. It displays an impressive dark inky color and immediately opens to profound aromas of blueberries and dark currants that are accented by exotic spices, iron, florals and underlying toasted nuances. On the palate this is full-bodied, fresh and polished while displaying outstanding overall depth. It continues to deliver layers of ripe dark fruit flavors, along with lovely notes of spices, loam and mocha that leave a long lasting impression. While this is utterly delicious today, it should also offer a drinking window that could span the course of two decades.
