The 2019 Helena Dakota Vineyard is nothing short of stunning as it opens to gorgeous aromatics of sweet dark currants, crème de cassis, graphite shavings, coffee grounds, fresh cut violets, exotic spices and underlying hints of iron all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this displays incredible class and finesse, though its full-bodied frame that is impeccably balanced and structured, with beautiful polished tannins that are velvety and seamless. It remains focused and precise with a notable streak of minerality framing its ripe core. The Helena Dakota is an utterly compelling wine that is crafted in a beautifully style and is already showing incredibly well, however I would not expect anything other than for it to become even more impressive as it evolves over time.
