SANDHI Chardonnay, Bentrock Vineyard 2012

2014 TOP 100 WINES | Rank #3
The Bentrock vineyard is north facing and yields the smallest amounts of Chardonnay for Sandhi, it is also the most complex and structured of all. The nose offers complex aromas of kaffir lime, white tea, exotic spices, lemon curd, flint, ginger, lavender and hints of mustiness. It delivers lots of fresh citrus and minerality, ending with a sublime finish that brings loads of mouthwatering acidity and goes on for minutes. Overall this is a balanced and elegant Chardonnay that has many years ahead of it. Cellar this for 3-5 years and watch it evolve for decades. (Best 2017-2030) - April, 2014 (MD)
