The 2015 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Spätlese is a simply gorgeous showing in this vintage. Gräfenberg is situated on a southwest-facing slope, with stony soils made up of phyllite stones interspersed with water-retaining layers of loess and loam. The yeilds from this site are extreamly low, resulting in a wine which offers inviting botrytis-tinged aromatics of fresh sliced apples and quince, followed by candied ginger and pink grapefruit blossoms. This continues to impress on the palate as it yeilds a remarkable complex flavor profile of ginger, Key lime, ripe mango and crushed gravel, which are beautifully concentrated. The textural richness is quite impressive as it finishs with a simply delicious, supple finish that lingers effortlessly. (Best 2017-2028) - August, 2017 (OB)
