HALL Cabernet Sauvignon, Rainin Vineyard 2014

The 2014 Rainin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a complete knockout from the talented winemaking team at Hall. Hall has recently gained a long term contract with this great 8-acre vineyard on Diamond Mountain, which is fantastic news for Hall and fans of the winery. Flirting with the rare limits of perfection, this intense, opaque colored red opens with an inviting, complex bouquet of crème de cassis, roasted coffee, sweet tobacco, hoisin sauce and suggestions of black cherry compote which all come together with a seductive quality which continues to bring you back for more. The texture is hedonistic and simply ethereal, as the weight is massive, yet the wine expands effortlessly across the palate. Deep flavors of crème de cassis, mocha, crushed mint, anise and black cherry with black olive tapenade are layered and concentrated as they continue to build through the finish. Overall, this is an absolutely incredible wine, which will have a long future and continue to impress for decades to come. (Best 2017-2044) - August, 2017 (OB)
