The 2014 La Croix de Beaucaillou is an exceptional showing in this vintage. Dark, ripe and ecpressive, this lovely Saint-Julien opens to inviting aromarics of dark cherries, blackberries, smoke, tobacco, spring floral and hints of scorched notes all taking shape in the glass. Medium-full bodied, this is beautifully balanced with a core of dark fruits and tobacco nuances leading up to the polished finish. While simply fantastic today, it will begin to show its best after another year or two of bottle age. The second wine from Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a remarkable example of the depth of the vintage. (Best 2018-2028) - September, 2017 (JD)
