The 2015 La Grand Comtadine Vacqueyras Vieilles Vines is a fantastic showing from Yves Cheron. This attractive red opens to aromas of black raspberries, plums, spices, pepper, black olive and earthy nuances all coming together beautifully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety texture leading to a ripe core of black raspberries and spicy plum notes all underlined by a lovely streak of acidity keeping this fresh and inviting though the finish. While this is drinking well now, it should be its best after another year or two of bottle age. (Best 2018-2024) - November, 2017 (JD)
