The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape 'Vielles Vignes' is a total knockout, which is composed of 50% Grenache, 40% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah. Displaying an inpressive dark, inky color, this offers seductive aromas of ripe blackberries and blueberries woven together with exotic spices, black olives and fresh violets all taking shape. On the palate this is full-bodied with striking purity and balance along with a remarkable combination of depth and concentration, which take this magnificent wine to another level. It continues to impress as it shows a gorgeous fresh character all the way through the long, expansive finish which leaves behind flavors of ripe dark fruits, exotic spices and violets lingering. This is a total beauty from the Jaume Family and I expect it to age exceedingly well for many years to come. (Best 2020-2038) - December, 2017 (JD)
