The 'Forêt' Pinot Noir from Sloliste comes from the Guidici Vineyard, situated 6 miles from the Pacific near Occidental. The hillside vineyard has a northeastern exposure, a very steep slope, and is in the middle of a spectacular redwood forest. The resulant wine is a extreamly aromatic, with lovely nuances of wild strawberries, ripe raspberry, exotic spices, dried florals and fresh minerals all taking shape. The flavors of red fruit, spice, earth and wild herbs all burst onto the palate, and driven by a gorgeous round, caressing texture which leads into the finish. This is beautiful today with some air, but will continue to evolve and gain complexity over the next 10-12 years.
