The 2014 'Grand Vin' is an utterly fascinating wine, which is composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot that was aged in 98% new French oak and 2% Hungarian oak. It begins with alluring aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark cherries, woven together with spring florals, graphite and hints of gravelly loam, which are extremely pure and inviting. On the palate this is structured and focused, with beautifully polished tannins and remarkable depth. It continues to impress as it displays a stunning combination of elegance and precision leading up to the incredibly long finish. You would be hard pressed to find a more complete wine from the region, or world for that matter. This outstanding wine has it all, exuding sheer class and beauty and should have a brilliant future ahead, evolving gracefully for decades.
