The 2013 ‘Matthew’s Block’ Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a gorgeous hilltop vineyard in the heart of Pritchard Hill, surrounded by the iconic vineyards of Colgin, Bryant Family, Chappellet, Ovid and Continuum. Greg Melanson has produced an absolutely fantastic wine in this vintage. This Clone 7 and 337 Cabernet opens to inviting aromas of blackberries and dark cherries woven together with spices, violets and hints of dark chocolate shavings all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, opulent, and multi-layered as it envelops the palate with well-polished tannins. It continues to impress as it displays remarkable purity and length through the finish. Outstanding already, but also has the tannin structure to cellar marvelously for many years.
