AU BON CLIMAT Pinot Noir 'Isabelle' 2014

'Isabelle' is wine that Jim Clendenen created for his daughter, which started with the first vintage back in 1995. It is composed from a blend of Pinot Noir sourced form premier vineyards across California, ranging from the central to the northern part of the state. The objective is to choose the best wines from each barrel to make this sensational blend. The wine itself offers an extreamly appealing nose, with seductive aromatics of strawberry, dark berry, eucalyptus, mesquite, savory herbs, leather and dried violets. The palate is soft and round, backed by vibrant acidity that continues into the long finish. While this is drinking beautifully now, this cuvée has a track record for evolving extremely well, and I expect there to be no exception with this fabulous release.
