The 2013 Achaval Ferrer 'Finca Bella Vista' Red Wine is about as good as it gets out of this region in terms of combining bright fruits, hedonism and balance. Right out of the gate the beautifully perfumed aromatics exude class with tar, sagebrush, dark currants and mocha that meld in the glass. The freshness and sense of minerality really impresses as this seamless wine deftly glides across the mid palate. Dense and concentrated dark fruits greet you with chocolate covered espresso bean. The 2013 is simply fantastic today, however it still has plenty to give and should continue to evolve over the course of the next twenty years.
