Weighing in at only 13.5% alcohol, the port wine is fortified with wine alcohol and aged in French oak barrels for 25 months. There are aromas of boysenberry preserves, mocha and black cherry with prune. This leads to flavors of blueberry, blackberry. anise, coffee grounds and spicecake. This has nice richness and is slightly cloying but serves as a dense treat. (Best 2015-2025) - December, 2015 (OB)
