The 2013 'Old Vines' Grenache by Yangarra is a great release that shows both poise and richness. The wine is sourced from Blewitt Springs vines which were first planted in 1946. Aged in used French oak for 9 months prior to bottling, the Grenache begins with aromatics of red cherry, lavender, prune and black plum. There are flavors of black cherry, baking spices, red raspberry that connect with a slightly tart, cran-pomegranate edge. This is lovely structured and great value Grenache from Yangarra which has excelled in this warm vintage.(Best 2016-2023) - June, 2016 (OB)
