Santa Ema's founding partners, the Pavone family, go back as far as 1917 when they first came to the Maipo Valley as grape farmers. Joey Tensley heads this impressive value wine project. The wine was aged 8 months in French and American oak prior to bottling. This wine begins with aromas of milk chocolate, blackberry cobbler and oak. There is nice viscosity to this wine. Flavors of milk chocolate, pipe tobacco, cardemom, blackberry preserves with anise coat the palate. They get an A+ for the plush texture at this price point. Delicious red wine for the short term.
