SANTA EMA Chardonnay 'Reserva' 2014

The 2014 Santa Ema 'Reserva' Chardonnay is an excellent value white out of Chile. 2014 was hit with a spring freeze in the Leyda Valley, which led to a generally small crop for Chardonnay. This was aged for 8 months in French and American Oak barrels prior to bottling. The Chardonnay wine begins with aromas of lemongrass, orange blossom, sourdough bread and oak. There are flavors of grapefruit, peach pit, lemon zest and gala apple. Nice minerality to this forward style Chardonnay. (Best 2016-2030) - February, 2016 (OB)
