Viña Almaviva, one of Chile's flagship wines, is a collaboration from Baron Philippe de Rothschild & Concha Y Toro. The 2013 is a drop dead gorgeous blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Carmenere, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. It delivers seductive aromas and flavors of sweet blackberries and dark currants woven together with exotic spices, graphite, tar and fresh spring floral. This impressive Bordeaux style blend is full-bodied and opulent, demonstrating remarkable balance and finesse. It also shows excellent concentration and depth with layers of ripe fruit cascading onto the long, voluptous finish. Today this is already extremely appealing, however there is an even brighter future as this wine shows great potential to age for many years.
