The 2014 Lapostolle Red is a fantastic blend of 30% Syrah, 25% Carmenère, 23% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon. Instantly revealing aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark currents which are woven together with mission fig, spring florals, loam, spices and tobacco framed by savory nuances all bursting from the glass. The medium-full body is beautifully balanced with a gorgeous round, plush texture which is underlined by lovely acidity keeping it fresh and inviting through the long, supple finish. This is an excellent showing, as well as an incredible value from this flagship estate.
