The 2011 Chateau Haut Gravet ‘Grand Chemin’ an absolutely fantastic wine and is certainly the most compelling of all the 2011’s from the Aubert Family. It displays a gorgeous inky color, with seductive aromas of ripe black cherries, dark plums, spices, pipe tobacco, fresh violets and crushed stones. This full-bodied red is beautifully concentrated with layers of ripe fruits. It remains balanced all the way through the long supple finish, which leaves you chewing your way through delicious dark fruits. This wines is already showing incredibly well, but also has the potential to age for years to come. Composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasted at Château. (Best 2015-2022) - June, 2014 (JD)
