The 2014 'Grand Chemin' from Château Haut-Gravet is an absolutely gorgeous showing. This instantly opens with seductive aromas of fresh crushed black currants and ripe black cherries along with roasted coffee, spices, fresh pipe tobacco, minerals and hints of leather. It possesses a full body, and demonstrates a beautiful balance of fruit and acidity at its core. It continues to impress all the way through the long, well polished finish, leaving behind flavors of black fruits and hints of toasted notes. Today, this is very approachable, and should also continue to evolve gracefully over the next decade in the cellar. (Best 2016-2026) - July, 2016 (JD)
