The 2016 Château Branaire-Ducru is a stunning release. This blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc begins with inviting aromas of dark currants, cassis, spring flowers and tobacco all take shape. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body which is structured around beautifully polished, yet firm supportive tannins. It continues to impress with its outstanding depth and concentration through the gorgeous finish. This stunning wine from this estate which should go on to age marvelously, that being said it will require some additional bottle age before it hits its stride.
