CHÂTEAU LES ORMES Saint-Julien 2011

The Château Les Ormes is an excellent showing in 2011. While some struggled in this vintage; winemaker Diana Garcia-Gonzalez seemed to thrive at Les Ormes, producing a fantastic wine composed from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 25% Merlot 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. This bursts with wonderful fresh, clean and pure aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, spring flowers and exotic spices. It possesses wonderful balance and finesse all the way through the gorgeous finish. This will still require some additional bottle age, but looks to have excellent potential. Dispite the conditions, the wine here seems to be improving each and every vintage, an excellent sign for a bright future at Les Ormes. (Best 2015-2025) - June, 2014 - (JD)
