CHATEAU SEGUR DE CABANAC Saint-Estèphe 2009

The Ségur name was widespread in the 16th century, and controlled many of the top vineyards in Médoc such as Latour and Lafite. Joseph Marie de Ségur, lord of Cabanac, went to Medoc to fulfill his passion of becoming a winegrower and it was he who marked the boundaries on parcels of vines which still today are called “Ségur de Cabanac.” The 2009 is elegant and refined with currant, blackberries, tobacco, tar and dried earth. Medium to full-bodied with firm, yet silky palate and a long grippy finish. Still extremely young so allow some time. (Best 2016-2025) - November, 2012 (JD)
