Château Grand Tayac stands in the commune of Soussans in southern Margaux. The vineyard produces just 3000 cases a year and the wine is elaborated by Eric Boissenot, who made his name as a consultant to 4 of the 5 legendary First Growth properties. The 2009 offers a gorgeous bouquet of beautiful fresh blackberries, cassis, graphite and pain grille, backed by subtle notes of smoke and tobacco. It's soft and elegant on the palate and it stays that way all the way through the finish. Composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. (Best 2013-2020) - October, 2012 (JD)
