The 2016 Château Cantemerle Haut-Médoc is a wonderful showing composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot which was aged in 40% new oak for 12 months, and an additional four months in vats before bottling. The result is a fabulous wine which beings with inviting aromas of red and blue fruits along with Asian spices, lavender, fresh spring florals all soaring from the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous medium-full body with a wonderful plush texture and loads of ripe fruits expanding through the finish. This is already showing so much appeal and should continue to drink beautifully over the course of the next decade and beyond. This is an incredible value and a wine to stock up on.
