The 2017 'Rives de Lamothe' is composed of 52% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. It begins with inviting aromas of dark cherries and blackberries, which are woven together with tobacco, violets and exotic spices. This medium-bodied red is nicely polished with a lovely touch of acidity at it core which keeps it fresh as it heads into the finish. This is accessible now and should continue to drink well with some short-term cellaring.
