The 2012 Lynch-Bages is a blend of 71 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 26 % Merlot, 2 % Cabernet Franc, 1 % Petit Verdot. It begins with aromas of black and red fruits along with hints of floral and spices which slowly develop in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and refined with a tightly wound core that shows some youthful austerity. This will benefit some additional bottle age, and I expect this show to well as it evolves and softens up a bit over the next decade.
