The 1999 Château Mouton Rothschild has shaped up beautifully after nearly 20-years and is showing absolutely incredible today. It instantly impresses with its wonderful mature and complex profile of dried red berries and dark plums, laced with dried savory herbs, roasted meat, tobacco, toast and hints of dried exotic spices that all come together gracefully. On the palate this thoroughly impresses with its gorgeous full-bodied and seamless texture as well as its striking overall finesse. Everything works together beautifully as this shows remarkable balance and glides effortlessly into the long elegant finish. The 1999 is a total beauty today, and possesses the hallmarks and character you would expect from a classic vintage of Mouton. While this could go on to offer a drinking window that could span another decade, it is hard to see see this evolving any further, it is drinking exceptionally well today.
