The 2011 Château Pichon Baron is a simply remarkable showing which offers impressive early appeal. This delivers seductive aromas of ripe dark cherries and cassis, which come together beautifully with spices, floral, smoke, tobacco and mineral notes. This continues to impress on the palate with wonderful overall balance, concentration and depth for the vintage. There are gorgeous ripe flavors which continue to resonate on the palate as it heads into the plush, layered finish. This is a sensational effort, and may certainly be one of the best wines to come from the vintage. (Best 2016-2028) - October, 2016 (JD)
