Sourced from clay soils on the east-facing La Rue Aux Vaches vineyard, the La Rue Aux Vaches starts a bit shy on the nose, but quickly opens to aromas of Asian pear, quince, Meyer lemon zest, pine needle forest, white flower, and toasty almond paste. Honey-coated pear flavors are prominent on the palate, along with a touch of toasty cinnamon powder.
Acidity is high, and the body is medium-plus, delivering loads of value for the price point. Only 45 cases produced.
