The La Garenne vineyard is set on limestone soils at roughly 1200 feet, near the town of Blagny. The steep slopes of the vineyard afford really good drainage for the vines. The resultant wine is a barrel selection from this vineyard. Coming from a warm vintage in Burgundy, this begins with aromas of lemon oil with chalky earth following. The acidity is outstanding here, with ripe green apple and lemon zest flavors impressing. This is a simply outstanding effort that will cellar well over the next ten to fifteen years.
