The 2012 'Aigrots' is an outstanding Pinot Noir from Premier Cru vineyards which are located directly North of the famous Beaune Clos des Mouches in 'Les Aigrots'. The vineyard is comprised of 35-year-old vines planted to clay, sand and limestone soils with a southeastern exposure. As the wine opens, it displays lovely aromas of plums and cherries which are woven together with spices, pepper and scorched notes. On the palate this impresses with its gorgeous silky textue and remarkable balance leading to the seamless finish. This is already appealing and should only evolve even further over the course of the next decade. (Best 2016-2026) - July, 2015 (JD)
