It's not often I taste a wine and instantly know it will be unforgettable, but not the case with the 1991 ‘La Mouline’ Côte-Côtie. This was a rare instance where I immediately knew that I was in the presence of something truly extraordinary; wine perfection. The aromas were so seductive, with notes of plums, sopressata, bacon fat, smoke, white pepper and hints of leather, which all come together in perfect harmony. As soon as you take the first sip it is like having the finest silk gently caress your palate. The wine is totally seamless and perfectly balanced from start to finish. The '91 'La Mouline' is a wine that a tasting note or a number can only begin to describe; it is truly an emotional experience and its wines like this that remind me of the reason why I fell in love with wine. - June, 2014 (JD)
