The 2012 'Monier de la Sizeranne' is sourced from les Bessards, le Méal and les Greffieux, which are all composed of different soil types and each contribute their own unique characteristics to this sensational Hermitage. This impresses from the second the cork is pulled, delivering alluring aromas of black raspberries and dark cherries giving way to spices, pepper, leather, smoked meats, mesquite and savory notes. On the palate this displays wonderful balance and finesse with a gorgeous plush, velvety texture which is impossible to resist. It makes a seamless transition into the soft, round finish, which is marked by ripe raspberries and a savory edge. While this is absolutely outstanding right now, it will only become more compelling with some additional bottle age. (Best 2017-2030) - June, 2016 (JD)
