The 2016 Saint-Véran Chardonnay from Maison Deux-Fleur begins with roasted peaches, crème brûlée and French vanilla. This shows nice balance with vanilla custard, Meyer lemon, Granny Smith apple and brioche flavors that sit alongside beautiful minerality. The silky mouthfeel coats the mid-palate, leading to a persistent, richly textured, mineral driven finish. Delicious now, and should continue to show well over the course of the next five years.
