DOMAINE FOND CROZE Rasteau 'Vielles Vignes' 2012

The Domaine Fond Croze 'Vielles Vignes' Rasteau is a compelling blend of 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre from 50-year-old vines. It delivers aromas of dark plums, blueberry, spices, fresh lavender, licorice and crushed stones as it unwinds in the glass. This possesses a lovely velvety texture that is supported by a solid core and layers of flavors that build up resonate all the way through the finish. If approaching this early it will require a couple hours of air contact, but for those with patience, waiting it out another few years will ultimately be the best decision.
