The 2013 ‘Les Argiles Bleues’ opens with black raspberries, cherries and plum woven together with licorice, black olive and chocolate shavings. On the palate this is medium-bodied and well balanced with a lovely core of acidity keeping it fresh. This grips hold on the finish and lingers. Today this is still youthful, bit more open and expressive than the traditional Rasteau from Beaurenard and will need a bit more time in bottle before it hits its stride.
