The 2016 'Les Grands Charrons' is a simply brilliant wine from the Boisson family. Pierre Boisson sources his Meursault form 60+ year-old vines and they are fermented wild in barrel, followed by 18-21 months in oak, with up to 40% new oak used for the top cuvées. This has it all going on, as it begins to dazzle with striking automatics of orchard fruits, almonds, stony minerals, honeysuckle nuances that all take shape beautifully in the glass. This continues to impress as it displaying remarkable overall balance and precision with a gorgeous texture leading up ti the incredibly focused finish. This is an utterly sensational wine in this vintage and it should go on to have a brilliant future ahead.
