The 2016 Melon à Queue Rouge from Domaine De La Pinte comes from 87-year-old vines, planted in clay, limestone, blue marl soils. The wine is floral, and honeyed, with lots of ripe golden apple and almond notes. This possesses a lovely soft round texture underlined by flavors of orchard fruits and honey on the palate. This quite accessibel now, and should continue to drink over the next 3-5 years.
